Wabi-sabi: recognising the beauty of things that are imperfect, impermanent and incomplete, the beauty that is outside the dominant aesthetic, the beauty hidden in simplicity and diversity, in the imperfection of nature, of the leaves and herbs that are trodden on the margins. What  is not flawless, not artificial, what carries within itself the traces of the unpredictable is wabi-sabi.

In this project, I looked for this beauty in the dance of the herbs on the edge of the mountain paths, at a time when the light is lost, 'between dog and wolf'.

Wabi-sabi : reconnaître la beauté des choses imparfaites, impermanentes et incomplètes, la beauté qui sort de l’esthétique dominante, celle qui est cachée dans la simplicité et la diversité, dans l’imperfection de la nature, des feuilles et des herbes qu’on foule, à la marge. Tout ce qui n’est pas sans défaut, tout ce qui n’est pas artificiel, tout ce qui porte en soi les traces de l’imprévisible est wabi-sabi.

Et dans ce projet j’ai cherché cette beauté-là dans la danse des herbes qui sont à la marge des chemins de montagne, à l’heure où la lumière se perd, ‘entre chien et loup’.
